Clomiphene, an ovulatory stimulanting agent induces the pituitary gland to stimulate the release of the egg from the ovary. It is prescribed for treating polycystic ovarian syndrome (pcos), psychogenic amenorrhea, amenorrhea-galactorrhea syndrome, post-oral-contraceptive amenorrhea, secondary amenorrhea, and male hypogonadism. Clomiphene is also used to treat fibrocystic breasts.
