Q: What is HBA1c Test ?
A: This is a blood test that measures a type of hemoglobin in the blood and accurately indicates the control of diabetes over time. Normally HbA1c is about 6 per cent of the total hemoglobin when a person does not have diabetes.
HbA1c of 7.5 per cent shows fair control of diabetes.
HbA1c above 8.5 per cent shows poor control of diabetes.
