Causes of Eclampsia
The cause of eclampsia is not well understood.
If pre-eclampsia is not controlled, it can lead to eclampsia.
An increased risk for pre-eclampsia is associated with -
- First time pregnancies
- Teenage pregnancies
- Mothers older than 40 years
- Multiple pregnancies
- Women with a history of diabetes, hypertension or renal (kidney) disease
