Tracheotomy- A procedure in which a plastic tube is inserted into the patient's windpipe through an opening made in the in the neck. This is carried out if the patient needs to be on a permanent ventilator support
Neurotrophic factors- chemicals found in the brain and spinal cord that are involved in the development and maintenance of neurons
