Vitamin K2 for Dialysis Patients

Deposition of calcium in the arteries is a major risk factor for heart disease. This deposition of calcium also known as vascular calcification is common in patients with chronic kidney disease. Vitamin K deficiency is closely associated with chronic kidney disease and in patients who undergo dialysis. Supplementing menaquinone-7 for 4 weeks significantly reduced vascular calcification in a recent trial.
