Role of Hormones in Sleep Deprivation

Sleep deprivation can affect several hormones. People who slept less than five to six hours per night were twice as likely to develop diabetes, reveal studies. Lack of sleep can also cause weight gain. Sleep deprivation lowers the level of leptin hormone (appetite suppressing hormone).
