New 3D-Printed Patch To Treat Ischemia

Ischemia is a condition where the blood flow is restricted or reduced in some parts of the body. It is often referred to as the decreased blood flow or oxygen supply to the heart muscle. Ischemia could often lead to narrowed, hardened or blocked blood vessels that could starve tissue. They may often result in stroke, heart attack or other conditions. A new method using 3D- printed patches has been infused with cells that could offer a promising approach to grow healthy blood vessels.
