New Therapeutic Approach to Treat Glaucoma

A new mechanism involved in the development and progression of glaucoma has been identified by a research team at the Center for Vascular Research, within the Institute for Basic Science (IBS). The team also found a therapeutic approach to treat glaucoma. The findings could help in the development of new therapies to treat primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG), which counts for three-quarters of all glaucoma patients.
