New Method that Prevents Bone Metastasis in Prostate Cancer Patients

Bone associated problems are faced by many patients with prostate cancer due to the spread of the disease. Most men are at an increased risk for fractures as they grow older. However, the risk is compounded when living with prostate cancer. Approximately 60 % of prostate cancer patients in the late stages of the disease will eventually develop bone metastases. The bones that are found to be affected most often among these patients are hips, ribs and spine.
