Intake of Red Meat and Poultry Linked to Diabetes Risk
A plant-based diet is considered healthier than a meat-based diet in preventing the risk of diabetes. However, not all meats affect the diabetes risk equally. A study conducted by a research team at Duke-NUS Medical School (Duke-NUS) found that higher intake of red meat and poultry is associated with increased risk of developing diabetes.
