Management of Arrhythmias in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Patients

Patients with atrial fibrillation often develop clots in their heart, which can travel to different parts of the body through the blood. If a clot lodges in the brain, it could result in a stroke. Both, atrial fibrillation and CKD independently increase the risk of stroke, and the presence of both the conditions make the patient even more vulnerable. Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are at a higher risk of heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias) like an atrial flutter or fibrillation, which can even be fatal.
