How High Triglyceride Levels can be Altered by Diet

Variations of a gene can increase the risk of high triglyceride levels in the blood which can increase a person's risk of heart disease, and may be a sign of metabolic syndrome. A new study from nutrition researchers at the University of Illinois shows that some individuals with certain alteration in a gene may be at a higher risk of developing high triglycerides. Despite genetic predisposition, the study shows that maintaining a healthy body weight or changing diet can help reverse the risk.
