NEW YORK, Dec. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- utiliVisor, an energy advisory firm that provides comprehensive energy plant monitoring and sub-metering services, has expanded its services for Hackensack Meridian Health Hackensack University Medical Center a 781-bed nonprofit, research and teaching hospital in Hackensack, N.J., to include the firm's Energy Insight Platform, a fully integrated energy management platform. Hackensack University Medical Center is the largest provider of inpatient and outpatient services in the state.

More than just an energy software program, utiliVisor's Energy Insight Platform is a fully integrated energy management system that provides seamless, efficient communication among Hackensack University Medical Center's team members — including engineering, sustainability, operations, and executives — with access to clear, concise and actionable insights about their overall energy usage.

The firm has set up "real-time" building analytics for each of the 12 buildings on the medical center's campus to track electric, gas, steam and chilled water usage. Through the system's cross-platform integration capability, sub-metered data at each building will be reconciled against the medical center's central utility plant energy production costs and Public Service Enterprise Group (PSE&G) utility bills to provide accurate energy-use indexing for each campus building.

Engineers at utiliVisor's Network Operations Center will send alerts to Hackensack University Medical Center's Engineering Department and sustainability team if energy thresholds and utility budgets are exceeded for any of the 12 campus buildings. In turn, Hackensack University Medical Center will work with utiliVisor's Operations Center to extract and shape data to create new energy conservation measures (ECMs). The Energy Insight Platform will validate ECM outcomes to ensure that projected savings are achieved.

"At Hackensack Meridian Health we recognize the link between environmental health and the health of our patients, team members and our community," said Kyle Tafuri, Director of Sustainability, Hackensack Meridian Health. "utiliVisor's technical expertise and understanding of central utility plant monitoring along with individual building sub-metering is responsible for energy reductions of 17 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and 1.2 million therms of gas which equates to $2.9 Million Dollars of Operational Savings at Hackensack University Medical Center, the network's academic flagship hospital. Our partnership with utiliVisor will allow us to operate efficiently and invest money into patient care versus wasted energy."

"Implementing the Energy Insight Platform is a natural extension of our ongoing relationship with Hackensack University Medical Center," added Peter Angerame, Vice President, utiliVisor. "In 2009, we implemented our Energy Plant Services, a real-time web-based remote monitoring system overseen by our Network Operations Center engineers, who analyze and interpret data from the medical center's Central Utility Plant and campus buildings to identify opportunities to increase energy efficiency."

Founded in 1978, utiliVisor offers comprehensive energy monitoring and sub-metering services, providing accurate, reliable solutions to boost efficiency and lower energy consumption. The utiliVisor system is a web-based, networked solution, built on open standards, that works in real time to collect and format data, monitor operations and equipment errors, and deliver oversight via web-based alerts and alarms. The firm services more than 800 buildings nationwide and oversees more than 525,000 service data points, more than any other service provider in the United States. It is also the largest sub-metering company in the tri-state New York metropolitan area and an approved Meter Data Service Provider (MDSP) for the State of New York.
