iHeartRadio Station AM 1300 The Zone to Host 'Help-a-Hero' Radiothon Benefitting Paralyzed Veterans of America

All proceeds to go toward free programs and services for veterans

WASHINGTON, Nov. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- AM 1300 The Zone, an iHeartRadio station in Austin,

is teaming up with Paralyzed Veterans of America (Paralyzed Veterans) to host its 'Help-a-Hero' Radiothon on Thursday, November 10. The radiothon will run live on air from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST today with all proceeds benefitting Paralyzed Veterans' programs and services. Paralyzed Veterans of America provides veterans, their families and caregivers with services such as benefits and employment assistance, and adaptive sports programs, all of which are provided free-of-charge.

Marine Corps veteran, Paralyzed Veterans' member, and 2016 Paralympian Marco De La Rosa will share his story during the radiothon, and talk about the life-changing services he received thanks to Paralyzed Veterans' support. De La Rosa was stationed at Camp Pendleton in 1993 when he incurred a spinal cord leaving him paralyzed.
