GlobalData has launched an interactive social media dashboard which is tracking conversation around the rapidly spreading coronavirus.

GlobalData’s Coronavirus social media dashboard uses a key list of influencers, which includes doctors, surgeons, physicians and other healthcare experts, actively sharing their views and opinions on twitter.

Using AI techniques such as NLP, the count of relevant hashtags, keywords, companies and countries are generated for the selected timeline.

The analysis shows a peak in social media conversation about the disease on 31 January.

Leading coronavirus influencers include academic Ian Mackay, physician Judy Stone and academic Carlos del Rio.

As of 3.30pm, 5 February, an advisory infographic from the Philippine Hospital Infection Control Society on the “anatomy of a face mask” was the most shared Twitter message from a key coronavirus influencer (Gia Sison). It has had more than 7,000 retweets.
