Edward Rippel, MD Named 2019 Million HeartsŪ Hypertension Control Champion

WETHERSFIELD, Conn., Dec. 11, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently announced 17 winners of the 2019 Million HeartsŪ Hypertension Control Challenge, a competition to identify practices, clinicians, and health systems that have worked with their patients to achieve hypertension control rates of at least 80%.

Edward Rippel, MD, FACP, of Quinnipiac Internal Medicine, P.C., is the first clinician in Connecticut to join the ranks of 118 national Hypertension Control Champions who have demonstrated success in improving hypertension control among their patients since 2012. Qualidigm, a leading healthcare consulting organization based in Wethersfield, Conn., recognized Dr. Rippel for his dedication to control hypertension rates through nomination for the 2019 Million HeartsŪ Hypertension Control Champion. Dr. Rippel is also Connecticut's first solo practitioner to achieve Level 3 status in the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) - Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Program.
