Industry-Wide Need for Usable Clinical Data Drives Adoption of the Company's Clinical Data Integration Platform

FARMINGTON, Conn., Aug. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Diameter Health, developer of the leading clinical data integration platform, today announced partnerships with two additional health information exchanges (HIEs), continuing its support of innovative organizations dedicated to sharing clinical data to improve healthcare quality. New Diameter Health customers include Washington State's OneHealthPort and a pilot with Healthcare Access San Antonio (HASA).

HIEs require clean, reliable clinical data to meet the needs of their healthcare provider and payer members and the patients they serve. In the U.S., HIEs form key interoperability links between patients, providers and health plans, representing (in total) over 880 million ambulatory visits, 145 million ER visits, and 24 million hospital stays annually, according to the CDC National Center for Health Statistics. However, the wide variation in clinical information documented by over 4 million clinicians in more than 100 certified Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems makes it nearly impossible to fully leverage clinical data in downstream systems such as quality reporting or population health analytics. Therefore, leading HIEs have turned to Diameter Health technology to normalize, enrich and deduplicate clinical data. Further, HIE health plan members can use the platform's output as standard supplemental data to report HEDIS® measures (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) because Diameter Health's technology is certified by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

"Newly emerging clinical data streams offer tremendous potential value to a variety of our customers. However, to fully realize that value we need clinical data that is of higher quality than what we get direct from multiple EHRs," said Rick Rubin, CEO of OneHealthPort. "Diameter Health provides us with the means to clean, edit, de-dupe and organize the clinical data we get from our participating providers. We can apply the data that Diameter has processed to support performance measurement, population health management, quality improvement and patient care at a level well beyond what is achievable with the raw data." Rubin also noted that, "health plans see significant advantages in leveraging clinical data from Diameter Health's NCQA certified service for HEDIS reporting."

Diameter Health continues its market momentum in 2019, and now works with more than 20 of the largest HIEs in the country. In turn, these HIEs help facilitate clinical data exchange for over 100 million patients, nationwide. With Diameter Health's technology, these organizations can produce even greater value for their members by creating a consolidated patient view as well as standard supplemental data, thereby reducing administrative burden for advanced analytics initiatives like population health and quality reporting.

"The number of clinical insights digitally recorded over the last decade has exploded, and organizations across the healthcare ecosystem are grappling with how to make this torrent of data a useful and valuable asset," said Eric Rosow, CEO and co-founder of Diameter Health. "HIEs, payers, and other organizations are beginning to recognize how essential middleware technology solutions are to unlocking their innovative information-based initiatives. Diameter Health's continued momentum demonstrates the value of normalizing clinical data for use in downstream applications to help improve quality of care."

Diameter Health will be attending the 2019 SHIEC Conference in National Harbor, MD from August 18- 21, 2019, exhibiting at booth #202. To schedule a meeting with Diameter Health executives, please contact Antonia Rutter at arutter(at)ariamarketing.com or 617-332-9999, extension 209.
