ALBANY, N.Y., April 9, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Amid the COVID-19 crisis and shortage of face masks and personal protective equipment, student housing community Auden Albany has announced that it will be donating 1,000 facemasks to SUNY Albany to support its program that gets new personal protective equipment (PPE) into the hands of first responders and healthcare professionals. The university program, launched by scientists in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, is harnessing UAlbany's 3D printing labs to produce new protective gear to meet the shortage being experienced at nearby hospitals as well as to protect first responders and campus police.
Auden Albany is one of the primary off-campus student housing communities at UAlbany, located just a block away from campus.
