The new legislation, signed by Governor DeWine on Tuesday at the Ohio State Fair, decriminalizes hemp and hemp products such as CBD, biofuel and other industrial applications, all while providing Ohio farmers an alternative and lucrative crop option.
An emergency clause included in SB 57 allows for the bill to go into effect immediately now that it has been signed by the governor. This means that Ohio retailers can begin selling CBD in their stores without delay and any products previously seized by law enforcement will be released. By lifting all legal ambiguity, retailers and consumers alike will benefit from the promise and popularity that CBD holds for so many.
