SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Wildflower Health and the Wyoming Department of Health are building
The two organizations today announced they have launched a free, customized mobile phone app to boost Wyoming family wellness by providing useful health tools and creating one-click, on-demand access to key healthcare resources. "My 307 Wellness" is an interactive app with reliable, credible health information and tailored details and connections to Wyoming resources statewide.
"There's a lot of information out there about health topics and some of it is, frankly, questionable," said Angie Van Houten, Community Health Section chief with WDH. "We want this app to be a resource Wyoming residents can trust. It will help users navigate and track unique health milestones and needs for themselves and for family members."
With this personalized health and wellness resource, Wyoming residents can access support and resources for all ages and stages of their family's health. "My 307 Wellness" is the trusted source for connections to numerous Wyoming Department of Health programs and partners, including Wyoming Cancer Program; Women, Infants and Children Unit; Maternal and Child Health Unit; Early Intervention and Education Program; Children's Trust Fund; Wyoming Medicaid and WYhealth.
"My 307 Wellness" is the latest collaboration between Wyoming Department of Health and Wildflower Health. Back in 2014, the two organizations introduced a mobile maternity app called WYhealth Due Date Plus as a digital tool for Medicaid patients across the state.
In 2017, the two organizations published a study in Telemedicine and e-Health showing that Medicaid patients who used the mobile maternity app were significantly more likely to have a first trimester prenatal visit, and experienced reduced incidence of low-birth weight babies. Specifically, a Medicaid member was estimated to be 76% more likely to have a 6-month or more prenatal visit, and was estimated to be only 25% as likely to have a low-birth weight baby, if she was an app user.
"We are excited to build on our success supporting expectant moms across the state of Wyoming with a solution that helps entire families manage their evolving health needs," said Leah Sparks, founder and CEO of Wildflower. "Creating a personalized experience where it is easy to find exactly what you need, that's what our technology is all about. It's a dramatic shift from how healthcare operates today, and we are grateful for our partners at the Wyoming Department of Health for sharing our vision."
