CHAPEL HILL, N.C., March 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- WorldLegacy's NC173 Leadership Team completed an extreme fundraising project for the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) in Durham, NC. The team of nine individuals, from all over the world, adopted three rooms at the RMH to allow families to stay for free for an entire year while their children are getting medical treatment. A child fighting a serious illness should not have to face it alone, and many times they are in the hospital for weeks or months at a time. In five days, the team raised $14,650 in cash and in-kind contributions to adopt three rooms and donate a refrigerator, mattress pads, blankets, shelving, books, lighting, pillows and a freezer. On Sunday, January 27, 2019, after the money was raised, they created a party for the residents including food, desserts, balloons and flowers. The team inspired over 140 people to donate money and over 15 businesses to donate items.

WorldLegacy's NC173 leaders stand for love, freedom and unity in a peaceful world. The team chose to manifest their vision by leaving a legacy in the domain of children at the Ronald McDonald House. This extreme fundraising project was the culmination of WorldLegacy's three-month leadership development program. What made this project unique is that the WorldLegacy Leadership team of nine individuals were charged with designing a project from start to finish, in which they could not use any of their own money, and they needed to inspire the community to be their partners. The project had to be completed in five days or less. No matter what the obstacles, failure was not an option.

This unique and diverse team of nine leaders came to Durham, NC from Germany, Chicago (originally from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan), North Carolina (two originally from China, one from Vietnam), and Massachusetts.

WorldLegacy invites you to partner with them and donate to the Ronald McDonald House. At the RMH, families are provided with food, lodging, a "home home-away-from-home" and a large community of support. Align your life and pocketbook with something bigger than yourself. Experience making a different for hundreds of children and families. We invite you to donate at the WorldLegacy donation site.
