MILWAUKEE, Nov. 8, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Women's Dermatologic Society (WDS) announced that Marta I. Rendon, MD stepped down as the 2019-2020 President-Elect due to health concerns. The WDS Board of Directors appointed Molly Hinshaw, MD to fill the remainder of Dr. Rendon's term.
In becoming President-Elect, Dr. Hinshaw will complete the current March 2019-March 2020 term and will be presented to the membership as the 2020-2021 President at the WDS Annual Meeting Luncheon in Denver, CO on March 22, 2020.

Per WDS governing documents, the Nominating Committee met and recommended Molly Hinshaw, MD to the WDS Board of Directors to fulfill the remainder of Dr. Rendon's term. The Board approved the recommendation on October 22, 2019.

About Molly Hinshaw, MD
Molly Hinshaw, MD, is dual board certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology and is an Associate Professor of Dermatology and Section Chief of Dermatopathology at the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Medicine and Public Health.
Since joining WDS in 2002, Dr. Hinshaw has served in multiple leadership positions as a Board Member, Council Chair, and in various committee roles. She received the 2011 WDS Career & Community Advancement Award for her achievements in specialty training for diseases and disorders of the nail unit.
Dr. Hinshaw is a member of the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (UWHC) medical board, Past President of the Wisconsin Dermatological Society, and has chaired numerous committees for the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatopathology, as well as WDS.
During her career, she has created courses, workshops and lectures for dermatologists, dermatopathologists, dermatology residents, primary care physicians, and medical students. Her clinical expertise includes melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer as well as disorders of the nail.
