County Line Professional Pharmacy owner Scott Podolin will use the visit by Rep. Tiberi to discuss the valuable services independent community pharmacies provide their patients and the challenges facing the industry that can be addressed with the passage of two bills pending in the U.S. House of Representatives.
H.R. 3140, the Saving Our Community Pharmacies Act of 2007, changes the Medicaid generic drugs formula that drastically cuts pharmacy reimbursements (to learn more go to: http://www.ncpanet.org/pdf/leg/hr_3140_factsheet.pdf).
H.R. 971, the Community Pharmacy Fairness Act of 2007, brings fairness to the relationship between community pharmacies and the giant administrators of the prescription drug plans--pharmacy benefit managers (to learn more go to: http://www.ncpanet.org/pdf/leg/hr971_s2161.pdf).
Both bills strengthen patient access to the nation's 23,000 community pharmacies.
