CLEVELAND, July 24 Immunochemist Mark C. Swanson gotleading scientists and researchers at the International Latex Conference 2008excited about a bright future for natural rubber latex (NRL) yesterday withinsights into the development and practical applications of Vytex(TM) NRL fromVystar Corporation. This commercially available NRL source material has ultralow antigenic protein levels as raw material while preserving desirable NRLproperties in finished products.

Vystar Chief Executive Officer William Doyle said, "We are very fortunateto have a scientist of Mark's stature engaged in evaluating and testing VytexNRL. Mark is a highly-regarded researcher in latex protein interaction who isfrequently called upon by employers and agencies to evaluate workplacebioaerosols and their remedies."

Presenting to the conference, Swanson called Vytex NRL a standardizedsource material for the production of natural rubber products using NRL thatis modified to significantly reduce its antigenic protein content. He pointedout that this innovative product, currently being produced under a tollmanufacturing agreement with Revertex Malaysia, can be used in a wide array ofmedical and non-medical applications.

Vytex NRL is produced at the latex processor level and can be easilyintegrated into current manufacturing environments without additional capitalequipment investment. The multi-patented modification process that leads toVytex NRL also has the potential to allow manufacturers to lower manufacturingcosts with reductions in process time, energy, water and material handlingconsumption.

Altogether, more than 500 medical and non-medical products made with VytexNRL have been independently tested using accredited ASTM protein testmethodologies. Among the products produced and tested are surgical gloves, condoms, foam (as used in mattresses and pillows), adhesives, tubing, probecovers and breather bags. Swanson reported that test results show that inaddition to significantly reduced antigenic protein levels; products made withVytex NRL demonstrate improved physical properties important to end-productquality such as tensile strength and resistance to aging when compared to non-Vytex NRL.

The full text of the technical paper Swanson delivered, Vytex(TM) NaturalRubber Latex:

An Innovative Source Material for Natural Rubber Products, is nowavailable online at www.vytex.com. Swanson and Doyle co-authored the paperalong with Industry Consultant Russell Culp and Vystar Vice President,Technical Services, Matthew Clark.

Vystar Corp. is the exclusive creator of the innovative technology toproduce Vytex Natural Rubber Latex(TM) (NRL). While latex allergy is mostcommon in the healthcare industry because of workers' prolonged and/orrepeated contact with latex, it is estimated that as many as 17 percent ofhealthcare workers and three percent of the general population could have anallergic reaction to the protein in natural rubber latex. However, because ofits superior product qualities, like barrier protection, strength anddurability, fit and comfort, environmental impact, cost, etc., it is thematerial of choice for a vast array of everyday products.

About Mark Swanson: Mark C. Swanson is an immunochemist of 30 yearsworking for the Mayo Foundation, Rochester, MN. He holds degrees from St.Cloud State University, in bio-medical science and chemistry. He foundedQuan-Tec-Air, Inc. in 1985. The company is dedicated to the quantification ofasthmagenic bio-aerosols using specialized sampling, filtration andimmunoassay techniques. The combination of air sampling expertise and de novoimmunoassay design and implementation makes him a unique and valuable resourcefor immuno-aero-biological health hazard assessment.
