"I have had excellent results with the new GVL 2.5 Stat in managing both the normal and difficult pediatric airways," said Cheryl K. Gooden, M.D., FAAP, The Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York.  "This new size is ideal for the pediatric patient, age and weight range gap that until now was not available."

GlideScope video laryngoscopes are designed to enable quick intubation and consistently provide a clear picture of the larynx and vocal cords on a display monitor.  By offering real-time visual control of the endotracheal tube (ETT) in its trajectory toward the airway, GlideScope instruments help eliminate the "blind" procedure issue that can occur when using a direct laryngoscope (DL).  The new 2.5 Stat is available for the GlideScope Cobalt AVL 1-2 and Ranger Single Use 1-2 video batons, optimized for use in settings requiring fast-paced intubations, such as the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), the operating room (OR) and the emergency department (ED).

GlideScope Cobalt AVL and Ranger single-use systems are comprised of a slim reusable video baton with a high-resolution camera and an anti-fogging mechanism to resist lens clouding and secretions; a non-glare color monitor; and single-use GVL Stats in four sizes designed for small, delicate anatomy.  The AVL includes integrated, real-time recording to help confirm tube placement, and high-resolution output facilitates OR theatre viewing.  An onboard technique tutorial helps make the AVL easy to use, learn and teach.
