STEVENSVILLE, Md., April 8 Vapotherm today announced the election of James W. Liken, principal of J.W. Liken Holding to its Board of Directors. Mr. Liken served as President and CEO of Respironics, Inc. from August, 1999 through December of 2003, where he navigated through a difficult post-merger period, refocused the organization on marketing, and then led Respironics to fifteen consecutive quarters of revenue and profit growth. He served as Respironics' Vice Chairman until March, 2008. Before joining Respironics, Mr. Liken was owner of Liken Home Medical, Inc., a regional provider of home respiratory services, from 1990 until he sold that business in July of 1998. Mr. Liken had been active in the home medical business since 1976, serving in management and ownership capacities for several predecessor companies to Liken Home Medical, Inc. He served on the board of the American Association of Homecare from 1980 to 2003, serving as chairman of the organization on two separate occasions.
