SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland, Dec. 16 Tyco International Ltd. (NYSE: TYC) today announced the nomination of Michael E. Daniels for election to the Tyco Board of Directors at the company's Annual General Meeting on March 10, 2010.

Daniels, 55, is Senior Vice President of the Global Technology Services group of International Business Machines Corporation. In this role, he has worldwide responsibility for IBM's Global Services business operations consisting of outsourcing services, integrated technology services, maintenance, and business services, as well as IBM Global Financing. Since joining IBM in 1976, Mr. Daniels has held a number of leadership positions in sales, marketing, and services, and was general manager of several of IBM's sales and services businesses around the world. Daniels is a graduate of the Holy Cross College and is a member of the board of directors of The Japan Society, a nonprofit institution that promotes understanding and cooperation between the U.S. and Japan.

Daniels has been nominated to replace Jerome York who is retiring from the Board of Directors in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting. Mr. York, 71, who is chief executive officer of Harwinton Capital, LLC, joined the Tyco Board in November 2002 and has served as the chair of the Audit Committee since January 2003.
