YACHATS, Ore., Feb. 07, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Situated in the coastal hamlet of Yachats, The Overleaf Lodge & Spa is a luxury retreat on an enchanting stretch of the Oregon Coast. Recently named one of Oregon's loveliest seaside towns along one of the most stunning stretches of Pacific Northwest coastline (Outside Magazine, 2016)—this quaint stretch of the Oregon Coast is just miles from some of Oregon's award-winning wineries situated in the foothills of the Coast Range—Prairie Mountain Wineries.

Overleaf Lodge & Spa visitors come to renew and ground themselves by just being there—or partaking in its exquisite spa services, meditative walks and end of the day wine tasting events. Guests can put their feet up and enjoy sipping wines from the Overleaf Lodge & Spa Wine Cove featuring regional wines from the south Willamette Valley's Prairie Mountain Wineries.

Whether an award-winning pinot noir or a refreshing dry white varietal, wine is an essential part of the Oregon experience—as much a part of the state's DNA as a winter rain shower or an ocean sunset. A good bottle of Oregon wine goes great with both!

The resort's popular wine nook offers guests wines for purchase from each of these vineyards and even hosts guests to complimentary tastings on select evenings. For an upcoming tasting schedule, click here.

Enjoy the wines of the south Willamette Valley

The Overleaf collaborates with six award-winning wineries located just 50 miles inland in the world-renowned south Willamette Valley wine country. The consortium of Prairie Mountain Wineries includes six neighboring wineries about 35 miles from the shadow of Prairie Mountain--some, within shouting distance of each other, in the foothills of the Coast Range of Oregon: Pfeiffer Winery, Brigadoon Vineyards, Bennett Vineyards, Walnut Ridge Vineyard, Benton-Lane Winery, and High Pass Winery.

"We are honored to showcase this unique and outstanding assortment of Oregon wines—they are in a class by themselves and our guests are always wow'ed by their unsurpassed quality and character," says Kristin Roslund, co-owner, Overleaf Lodge & Spa. "The owners and wine makers join us for rotating wine tastings and evening receptions which has been a huge draw for wintertime guests."

The Prairie Mountain Wineries are comprised of some of the best-kept secrets in this southern valley region—in fact, one of the region's pinot noirs from the acclaimed Pfeiffer was the only pinot noir served at President Barack Obama's private pre-inaugural dinner.

"There is no where on earth like the Overleaf Lodge & Spa and guests will find few more delicious wines than those of our unique microclimate—this winning collaboration is terrific for all of us involved, especially guests!" says Danuta Pfeiffer of Pfeiffer Winery. "Our collaboration is such an incredible way for guests from around the world to be introduced to our wines—many of which have achieved 92 points in Wine Enthusiast! We've literally served Overleaf guests from New York, Boston, China and so many more locations—it's a destination resort complete with an innovative wine nook that supports us all."

Located between Corvallis and Eugene, only 90 minutes south of Portland and 50 miles from the Overleaf Lodge & Spa, Prairie Mountain Wineries thrive in the peaceful heart of the Willamette Valley. They all have their own personalities and styles, but guests will rarely find a closer group of wineries with their own vineyards, tasting rooms, and estate grown wines and accessible, hands-on owners and winemakers.

This cluster of six individual and neighboring wineries grow their vineyards sustainably, honoring the earth, the soil and the sun in a region famous for its cool-climate pinot noir and pinot gris wine grapes. Among other varieties, the wineries create include pinot blanc, chardonnay, muscat, merlot, gamay noir, riesling and dessert wines. Guests can find all at the Overleaf Wine Nook.

"This is such a mutually beneficial collaboration for both the Overleaf and its guests and for us the wine growers—visitors have been blown away by the quality and prestige of our collective wines and we thank the Overleaf for their incredible support," says Jim McGavin, owner of Walnut Ridge Winery and president of the Prairie Mountain Wineries consortium. "The Overleaf wine nook offers an incredible view of crashing waves, a wood-burning fireplace within view, and some of the best kept secrets in Oregon's South Willamette Valley. We encourage wine—and shore—enthusiasts to join us for a rotating introduction to these extraordinary creations."

About the Overleaf Lodge & Spa

The Overleaf Lodge & Spa is a family owned business whose mission is to make each guest, employee and community member feel at home and relaxed. The Lodge opened in 1997, after being designed and built by founders and owners, Jerry and Georgia Roslund. Since its opening the Lodge has provided a premier Central Oregon Coast experience to visitors. For three generations the Roslund family has worked and lived in the Yachats community and the Overleaf Lodge & Spa is representative of the spirit of this remarkable place. The name 'Overleaf' was chosen through a happy accident. During the initial construction of the property, Jerry was thumbing through an architectural catalogue when he found a photo of a building he liked and mistakenly thought the architectural style was called 'Overleaf.' As it turns out, the term was instructing him to 'turn the page' or 'overleaf' for more information. Nonetheless, they loved the name and what it came to symbolize for the Lodge: 'turning over a new leaf' in life. This is how the Overleaf Lodge & Spa was born.
