The Gladney Center for Adoption Names Mark L. Melson as Executive Vice President/Chief Development Officer

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 28 The Gladney Center for Adoption, Fort Worth, Texas, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Melson to the newly-created position of Executive Vice President/Chief Development Officer. In his new role, Melson is responsible for creating, managing and implementing funding programs that drive the Gladney Center toward its goal of creating bright futures around the globe through adoption programs and humanitarian aide efforts. Previously, Melson was the Chief Development Officer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas. Frank Garrott, Chief Operating Officer says, "Mark's background combines business experience with extensive work in the non-profit arena. This background, coupled with his energy and passion, make him an ideal fit for our Chief Development Officer position."

A native of north Texas, Melson has a BBA and MBA from the University of North Texas. He is designated as a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG) from California State University, Long Beach, and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). He recently served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the National Committee on Planned Giving, and has over 15 years in charitable gift planning. Melson and his wife Jennifer have two beautiful children, Lillian and Madeleine.
