LITTLETON, Colo., July 29, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Clinic, one of Colorado's longest-running dispensary chains, is hosting its 10th Annual Charity Classic at Arrowhead Golf Course to raise funds for the Rocky Mountain MS Center and the National MS Society. To date, The Clinic has raised a total of $700,000 for the cause over the past nine years. Recently, The Clinic was named a Top 100 Corporate Team of total historic fundraising in the country for the National MS Society.

The Clinic team became devoted to the cause after learning that the spouse of Jay Price, the head breeder for their cannabis cultivation company, The Bank, was diagnosed with MS. Learning how MS had impacted her life and how cannabis had helped her manage symptoms inspired The Clinic to champion the cause on a larger level.

"It's always been important to us that we help people, and we saw a critical need to help those with MS by funding research," explains Max Cohen, CEO of The Clinic. "We are gearing up for the most successful Charity Classic yet, with our very first after-party including live music and comedy from fantastic performers like Josh Blue."

Medical research released in 2019 also supports the use of cannabis to provide relief for those with MS. In a study from the University of Colorado School of Medicine published in medical journal Multiple Sclerosis and Related Disorders, approximately 38 percent of MS patients studied used cannabis to treat symptoms such as pain, insomnia, and sleep issues, and more than 60 percent saw a benefit or experienced relief from cannabis use.

Current MS patient of The Clinic, Eva Milko, a 20-year Denver resident and a successful global business executive, is eager to share her story of going from a staunch opponent to a passionate supporter of cannabis as a medicine to manage her MS symptoms.

"I had many conversations and did loads of research before considering cannabis for my MS symptoms. My only regret is that I waited so long" explains Milko. "I tried to manage my MS with very expensive pharmaceuticals for years, but I struggled with things like leg pain, spasticity, sleeplessness, anxiety and number of side effects from the prescribed drugs. Cannabis has given me a new and exciting, natural alternative. I was able to eliminate majority of worrisome side effects and experience a multitude of benefits without ever getting high."
