TechCare Corp. (OTCQB: TECR), a technology company with a revolutionary platform that uses cold vapor technology for natural health and beauty treatments, today announced it has designed and developed Novokid +, an institutional grade head lice treatment product based on its original Novokid for home use. TechCare expects to commercially launch Novokid + in the first quarter of 2018.
Novokid is a new paradigm in the treatment of head lice, a $1.8 billion global market. Current over-the-counter treatments are toxic, often ineffective and expensive. According to the Journal of Medical Entomology, 98% of lice have developed resistance to existing treatments in the U.S. and they are now referred to as "super-lice". Most current treatments contain pesticides, alcohol or silicone, which are all associated with a wide variety of hazardous side effects. Novokid is a non-pesticide, natural, plant-based and eco-friendly solution that eliminates lice and super lice with a 10 minute dry treatment. This compares with current treatments that required 20-40 minutes of shampooing and daily combing.
While the Novokid vaporizer for home use is battery operated, the Novokid + vaporizer, designed for higher volume daily use, plugs into an electrical outlet. Both Novokid products combine disposable single use capsules containing the all-natural active ingredient, a vaporizer which enables release of the vaporized compound from the capsule into the cap, and a proprietary head cap that fits snugly around the hairline and encloses the vaporized active ingredient. Novokid and Novokid + are invented by TechCare scientists. Patents are issued and pending in the U.S., Europe, Israel, and many other major markets.
