With this issue in mind, Mr. Zhengrong Wei, Logistics Manager of Sundiavisited the Express Consignments Supervision Section of Shanghai Customs. Forthe CRO industry, the timing of shipments is critical for successful companyoperations. Since last June, Shanghai Customs have implemented an ExpressCustoms Clearance on a trial basis to speed up customs clearance processes forthree CRO companies including Sundia. According to Mr. Wei, "The customsclearance time for Sundia's CRO shipments has been shortened to 1 day onaverage. Even during the Shanghai 2010 World Expo, there won't be a bigchange for the custom clearance speed for both import and export goods ofSundia."

To Mr. Wei's question about customs clearance during the Expo, ShanghaiPudong Customs gave a positive answer: "We will increase the checks on Expo-related cargos and goods to ensure a secure and efficient Expo customsclearance process; at the same time, we will make sure that the customsclearance speed will not be affected for companies in the Express CustomClearance trial program."
