MAHWAH, N.J., June 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Stryker Orthopaedics, the Official Joint Replacement Products of the PGA TOUR® and PGA TOUR Champions, announced today plans to activate on-site at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, CT.  This weekend marks the sixth tournament of the year where Stryker will engage with consumers and bring The Mobility Zone – a destination designed to educate golf fans on the importance of joint health and mobility – on site. In addition, on Friday of tournament week, Stryker will make its fourth K9s for Warriors donation of 2017 in an effort to honor the company's ongoing commitment to our nation's military.

This is the second consecutive year that Stryker has collaborated with K9s For Warriors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing service canines to military veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disability, traumatic brain injury or other trauma as a result of military service post 9/11.  As part of this collaboration, Stryker will host a special ceremony while at the Travelers Championship to pay homage to our military, by making a donation to K9s for Warriors. Tournament goers can also show their support to veterans by purchasing a Stryker hat at The Mobility Zone. For each hat purchased, Stryker will make a donation to the K9s For Warriors organization, empowering veterans to return to civilian life with dignity and independence by sponsoring service canines.

"Stryker is proud to leverage our partnership with the PGA TOUR to not only educate tournament goers on the importance of joint health, but to also support our military," said Bill Huffnagle, President, Stryker's Joint Replacement Division.  "Our fourth service dog donation of the year is a remarkable accomplishment. It means so much that we're able to honor and help a deserving veteran get back to civilian life, and K9s for Warriors allows us to do just that."

While at the tournament, Stryker will activate The Mobility Zone where tournament goers will be able to partake in the 2017 Stryker Challenge – a hands-on experience featuring Art H. Ritis, a life-size model that aims to provide tournament goers with a basic understanding of joint replacement surgery and Stryker's products. In addition, fans who stop by The Mobility Zone will be able to enter for a chance to win a trip for two to Atlanta, GA for the TOUR Championship® and walk inside the ropes as an honorary observer – a true VIP experience.1,2
