Nonprofit, Foundation, and Corporate Leaders to Discuss how Philanthropy Can Change Narratives and Bridge Divides

WASHINGTON, Nov. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Graham-Pelton Consulting, the American Psychiatric Association Foundation,

and Fenton will host a timely panel discussion examining how nonprofits, corporations, and foundations can drive critical change in society through philanthropy on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. at The National Press Club, 529 14th Street, NW, 13th Floor, Washington D.C. This gathering will bring together over 120 leaders in development, communications, marketing, nonprofits, and foundations to discuss the critical role of philanthropy in changing today's narrative.

In our increasingly polarized society, issues like health care, retirement, immigration, jobs, and education are at risk. At a time when politics seem to foster uncertainty, fear, and divisiveness throughout our nation, corporations and nonprofits have the opportunity – and even the responsibility – to bring people together in a way that will drive change and move society forward.

The panel of nonprofit, foundation, and corporate leaders will explore the responsibility of the nonprofit and the corporation, inherent obstacles and challenges, and innovative solutions to achieve the seemingly impossible.

The event will be moderated by Elizabeth Zeigler, President and CEO of Graham-Pelton and Daniel Gillison, Executive Director of the American Psychiatric Association Foundation. Panelists will include:

  • Cheryl Hughes, Senior Director, Civic Engagement, The Chicago Community Trust
  • Lilly Weinberg, Director, Community Foundations, Knight Foundation
  • Will Shafroth, President and CEO, National Park Foundation
  • Delia de la Vara, Senior Vice President, Development and Strategic Initiatives, UnidosUS
  • Nona Evans, Executive Director, Whole Kids Foundation and Whole Cities Foundation

Registration has reached capacity, but sign up for the waitlist is available by visiting grahampelton.com/society-in-crisis.  A recording of the event will also be available.  Please contact inside@grahampelton.com to receive this recording.
