Quantum dots (QDs) are nanometer-sized semiconductor nanoparticles thatemit bright, near-monochromatic light (luminesce) under light or electricalstimulation. Emission color can be tuned by choosing nanocrystal size, makingQDs ideal luminophors for cutting-edge applications including ultra-thindisplays, solid-state lighting, anti-counterfeit protection, andnext-generation solar cells.
