The facts and statistics suggest that eating disorders may be more prevalent than realized. The latest statistics indicate that more than 30 million people in the U.S. will suffer from an eating disorder, and over 70% of sufferers will not seek treatment due to stigma, misconceptions, lack of education, diagnosis and lack of access to care. The facts about eating disorders are sobering, but statistics also show that up to 80% of patients who receive and complete eating disorder treatment will recover or improve significantly.

There is currently limited access to treatment and a gap between levels of care in Long Beach despite a high need. "Access to care is a vital component of eating disorder treatment. We are excited to expand our services to encompass all levels of care to offer more intensive support and structure for those struggling. We are at a place in the organization where we can successfully expand our services and continue to be an integral support to the community." says, Rachel Levi, Founder and CEO of Shoreline.

Shoreline Center for Eating Disorder Treatment has been treating eating disorder sufferers since 1995 in Long Beach and Laguna Hills. We are thrilled to add this much needed level of care and to our already distinguished team of clinicians, doctors, dietitians and nurses.
