TEL AVIV, Israel, June 13, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, announced the opening of a new set of pediatric emergency room suites located in the Josef Buchmann Gynecology and Maternity Center.
Children and their families will have one of their first and most important interactions with physicians when they arrive at the pediatric emergency room. This will determine the course of treatment during their stay, and Sheba is committed to making sure every family receives compassionate, individualized care with the most advanced medical treatments available.
The event was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Sheba Director General Prof. Yitzhak Kreiss. Prof. Eyal Sivan, Head of the Josef Buchmann Gynecology and Maternity Center and professor of obstetrics, was appointed as the director of these new E.R. suites. Some of the most important and dedicated Sheba supporters from around the globe were also in attendance to witness this moment.
With the joint leadership of Prof. Kreiss and Prof. Sivan, the Sheba Medical Center obstetrics department will keep flourishing – ultimately creating an entire obstetrics floor – and continuing Sheba's unparalleled leadership in medical care.
"We are the largest high-risk medical center in Israel, and we needed to ensure our emergency response setup supports this," said Prof. Kreiss. "The care for our patients at Sheba Medical Center is not just about the technological advances, it's about love, tenderness and bringing health to life. Sheba is giving life."
This week, dozens of dedicated Sheba supporters from the U.S., Canada and Europe are in Israel participating in a mission being hosted by the Sheba administration. The Friends of Sheba are touring different parts of the hospital, as well as the country, to learn more and appreciate where their hard work and effort is making a difference. Prof. Kreiss made sure to thank everyone for their support in making these new emergency suites a reality.
