National Senior Health & Fitness Day promotes the importance of regular physical activity for seniors and showcases what local organizations are doing in their communities to help improve older adults' health and wellness. It is the nation's largest health promotion event for older adults.
In California, National Senior Health & Fitness Day will be celebrated at senior centers; retirement communities; Ys and health clubs; hospitals and health systems; and local aging organizations. Events at these locations, made possible through support by AARP® Medicare Supplement Plans insured by UnitedHealthcare, will include health fairs, fitness walks, exercise demonstrations, health screenings and presentations by health and fitness experts.

"Exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle for people of all ages, but older adults who exercise may prevent or delay disease, keep their minds sharp and gain confidence," said Susan Morisato of UnitedHealthcare. "UnitedHealthcare is grateful for the opportunity to support seniors' health and well-being through the National Senior Health & Fitness Day events in California."
