Residents at selected Brookdale Senior Living communities nationwide weregiven the opportunity to share and submit their wishes as part of a pilotprogram called Experiences of a Lifetime. They filled out a survey formexplaining an experience they would like to have fulfilled and how thatrelated to one or more dimensions of the company's Optimum Life(R) concept,which is geared toward cultivating whole-person wellness through fulfillmentin six key dimensions: physical, emotional, purposeful, social, spiritual,and intellectual.

"Experiences of a Lifetime encourages our residents to expand theopportunities of living an Optimum Life(R) by choosing experiences that aredirectly tied to one or more of the six dimensions of wellness," said SaraTerry, vice president of Optimum Life(R) for Brookdale. "By fulfilling theseexperiences for our residents, we wish to grant them long-lasting memorieswhile their lifelong dreams become a reality."
For example, a few residents expressed the desire to take music lessons,which would highlight the intellectual dimension. One resident wishes for atrip to the Holy Land -- therefore reflecting the spiritual dimension. Thecompany collected their dreams and will provide a helping hand in making someof these goals come true.
"Experiences of a Lifetime takes the company's commitment of providingExceptional Experiences Every Day for its residents to a new level by bringinglifelong experiences to light," said Terry. "It encourages our residents tokeep dreaming and exploring new, untapped opportunities."
The company will select and fulfill 12 resident experiences from July of2008 through June 2009. Family and friends will be invited to share in theexperience with their loved one to add to the excitement.
