The first member hospital to use the new program is Northwest Community Hospital (NCH) in Arlington Heights, Ill. Recently discharged patients and employees of NCH receive a special promotion discount for ordering SSHE meals. Packets of information are provided along with a promotion code that needs to be used upon ordering to receive the discount.

"We were certain we could help with the planning, shopping and cooking for recently discharged hospital patients and their families. When we first spoke to MCHC about a possible partnership, I was immediately enthused about the opportunity to help those who need us to continue with their healing process after being discharged from the hospital," said Seattle Sutton, RN, BSN, Founder and President of Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating.

Sutton continued, "We are very focused on health and wellness as a company and saw a natural fit to help the hospital's employees stay healthy as well. We know from numerous studies that healthy employees are more productive, happier and enjoy their work much more. We're so glad to offer the discount to them, as well as recently discharged patients."

The idea to partner MCHC and SSHE was born from a personal experience an executive at MCHC had with their own family member who was discharged from the hospital and needed help with healthy, balanced meals. Then, the "light bulb" moment went off about how MCHC could help member's patients and employees.

"We are pleased to partner with Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating as it offers our members a convenient and healthy meal option at discounted prices," said Kevin Scanlan, President and CEO of MCHC.

"We want to encourage our employees and discharged patients to maintain their health," said Bruce Crowther, NCH president and CEO. "By encouraging Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating program, we give them the opportunity to get healthy meals and have a well-balanced diet."
