MONROVIA, Calif., July 14 STAAR Surgical Company (Nasdaq: STAA) today announced that it will release financial results for the second quarter ended July 3, 2009 on Monday, August 3, 2009 before the market opens. In addition, the Company today reported that cash and cash equivalents and restricted cash as of July 3, 2009 were $13.1 million. This balance includes the proceeds from the registered direct offering of common shares on June 17, 2009 of $8.6 million. Cash and cash equivalents at the close of the first quarter of 2009 on April 3 were $3.7 million.
