Dr. Wang, who serves as University Research Chair and Professor at the University of Waterloo in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is world-renowned for his groundbreaking work on the Structural Similarity (SSIM) video quality algorithm, for which he received a PrimeTime Engineering Emmy Award. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the Canadian Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, as well as a recipient of an NSERC Steacie Memorial Fellowship and a Primetime Engineering Emmy Award. Dr. Wang was named to the RSC's College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists in 2015.
