The Medical Data Call will go into effect for all workers' compensationclaims, including medical-only claims, occurring in the applicable statesduring the third quarter of 2010 and will be due to NCCI by December 31, 2001.This reporting will be mandatory for eligible participants in 36 states.

With the continuing and dramatic escalation of medical costs facingworkers' compensation stakeholders, many state regulators and legislatorslooked for NCCI to provide analysis and pricing of their medical costcontainment solutions. NCCI recognized that more detailed medical data wasneeded to effectively measure the impact of future workers' compensationregulations and thus worked with its member states to implement the NCCIMedical Data Call.
