The Los Angeles-based medical group comments on a recent article that plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures reflect a change in consciousness regarding cosmetic procedures.

LOS ANGELES, April 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A March 17 article on

Medical News Today reports on new statistics published by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons that nearly 18 million people received plastic surgery and cosmetic enhancements in the United States in 2018, an increase by nearly a quarter million over 2017. The top procedures included breast augmentation, liposuction, nose reshaping, eyelid surgery, and tummy tucks. The survey also found that men are increasingly considering procedures as well. Beverly Hills Physicians, a Los Angeles-based health and beauty medical group, notes that the increase in plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments is largely due to the decline in negative social stigma to using medical means to enhance an individual's appearance.

Beverly Hills Physicians says that the most popular noninvasive cosmetic treatments sought out recently are by younger women in their 20s and 30s looking for preventative care that maintains their youthful looks and blocks signs of aging rather than fixing problem areas after they've appeared. This includes injectable treatments and fillers such as Botox. These procedures are usually quick with minimal downtime, which increases its appeal among millennials who are somewhat more concerned with time and convenience, BHP says.

In the age of social media, Beverly Hills Physicians comments that plastic surgery has never been more widely accepted. From celebrities sharing their work online to everyday individuals receiving treatments to look younger and stay relevant on the job, enhancing one's appearance is becoming ever easier, BHP says. The Los Angeles based clinic notes that with the advancements in medicine and beauty technology, more individuals are seeing quick, noninvasive procedures akin to improving their looks through a hair or wardrobe makeover.

Beverly Hills Physicians adds that as the article mentioned, an increasing number of men are choosing to receive plastic surgery or other cosmetic procedures as well. The medical group points out that, especially in an appearance-focused city such as Los Angeles, all fields of endeavor are both crowded and competitive. More and more individuals are turning to treatments in order to gain any advantage possible when it comes to job opportunities, Beverly Hills Physicians says. Overall, the health and beauty group says everyone just wants to look the best they possibly can. When an individual looks their most attractive, their self-esteem, and confidence improves which can be life-changing in and of itself, Beverly Hills Physicians says.
