FREDERICK, Md., April 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The 9th annual Relay for Life Radiothon, presented by Frederick Regional Health System, raised $32,673 during the three-day event from April 5 to April 7, 2018. The Relay for Life Radiothon raises money for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

The Radiothon encompassed live on-air broadcasts of WWEG and WAFY radio from the James M. Stockman Cancer Institute in Frederick, MD and the Radiothon 5K held in Baker Park, Frederick. During the Radiothon event held at the cancer center, local businesses provided direct support through Power Hours. The Power Hour supporters included:

On Saturday April 7, over 350 runners were registered to participate in the Radiothon 5K. Businesses that provided additional during the run:

In the nine years of the Relay for Life Radiothon, $260,684 have been raised to support the local chapter of the American Cancer Society in this region. The local group provides support to individuals and their families who are battling cancer.
