The health care system, serving locations throughout the Mid-South, delivers approximately 10,000 babies a year at eight affiliate hospitals that provide obstetric care.

The infant security system adds a new layer of high-technology comfort to patients and families. "Regardless of hospital size, we've found Safe Place completely meets our needs for infant monitoring, security and safety," said Tommy Pollard, Manager of Corporate Contracts at Baptist Memorial Health Care. He said that Baptist Memorial chose Safe Place over three other vendors' offerings when it made the decision to upgrade its security systems two years ago.

"RF Technologies demonstrated their commitment to meeting our needs through an exhaustive evaluation of Baptist Memorial's existing monitoring system," Pollard explained. "They listened to us when we identified challenging issues, then they developed and presented solutions that are appropriate for each of the hospitals."
The Safe Place system helps prevent abduction of infant patients by sounding an alarm and locking all area doors and elevators if a baby is moved without authorization. Staff can easily monitor the infants via computer software that alerts them to any attempt to tamper with infant transmitters.
"The system is extremely user friendly, and we love the Virtual Private Network, an invaluable three-way remote monitoring system that identifies problems and automatically determines whether workflow is being handled correctly," Pollard added.
