RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association applauds Delaware Governor John Carney for signing a bill into law that requires health insurers in Delaware to provide coverage for fertility care services, including in vitro fertilization procedures, for individuals who suffer from a disease or condition that results in the inability to procreate or to carry a pregnancy to a live birth.

MCLEAN, Va., July 2, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association applauds Delaware

Governor John Carney for signing a bill into law that requires health insurers in Delaware to provide coverage for fertility care services, including in vitro fertilization procedures, for individuals who suffer from a disease or condition that results in the inability to procreate or to carry a pregnancy to a live birth.

"This is an historic legislative win for Delaware families!" said Barbara Collura, President/CEO, RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. "Delaware has just become the sixteenth state to provide infertility insurance coverage, the ninth to provide IVF coverage, and one of just a handful of states to provide fertility preservation for cancer patients."

RESOLVE advocated strongly for passage of this legislation and supported the grassroots advocacy by patients, physicians and like-minded organizations to advance this cause.

"I'm so proud to be a Delaware resident! Governor Carney and the Delaware legislature demonstrated tremendous support for families, and this legislation will have a profound impact on the lives of Delawareans who are struggling to build a family," said patient advocate Christie Gross, leader of Stand Up For Delaware Fertility Coverage.
