Brown will address the crucial need for unity in the pro-life movement in working toward cultural and legislative recognition of the personhood of each and every life, from creation until natural death. Currently, 16 states are working on personhood legislation.
"Judie is uniquely qualified to inspire, impassion and renew our movement's commitment to advancing recognition of the personhood of the preborn," said Marie Hahnenberg, project director for ALL's Personhood Conference and Rock for Life's Training and Activism Week. "She has uncompromisingly focused on fostering respect for the dignity of the human person since the very beginning of the pro-life movement. We're blessed to have her leadership as we begin a new, unified push for personhood -- for all human beings."
Judie Brown was named as one of the top 100 Catholics of the 20th century. She has written seven books including her most recent "Saving Those Damned Catholics: A Defense of Catholic Teaching." She and her husband have been active in the pro-life movement since 1969.
ALL's Training and Activism Week and Personhood Conference will also feature Ambassador Alan Keyes, David Bereit of 40 Days for Life, Kristi Burton, architect of the Colorado Personhood Initiative, Lila Rose, president of Live Action Films and Jill Stanek, the renowned blogger and former nurse who launched the Born Alive Truth campaign during the 2008 presidential elections.
Brown will speak at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 23 at the Liaison Hotel in Washington, D.C. For more information see http://www.rockforlife.org/taw/
