Plexxus to Transform Ontario's Healthcare Support Services With SAP

TORONTO, Sept. 2 SAP Canada Inc., afast-growing subsidiary of SAP AG (NYSE: SAP), today announced that Plexxus, anot-for-profit healthcare support services provider, will implement SAP(R)Business Suite applications and the SAP(R) for Healthcare solution portfolioto support supply chain, finance, payroll and human resources processes acrossits member healthcare organizations.


Plexxus was formed as a shared service to maximize non-clinicalefficiencies and improve service levels, enabling its members to gain savingsto be reinvested in direct patient care. To help realize this goal, Plexxuswill leverage SAP Business Suite -- a complete and integrated suite ofbusiness applications that help organizations better run their businesses-- and deploy the SAP(R) ERP, SAP(R) Supply Chain Management and SAP(R)Supplier Relationship Management applications.

Plexxus will also use the SAP for Healthcare set of solutions, a portfolioof state-of-the-art software tailored to meet the unique challenges ofhealthcare organizations. With its SAP implementation, Plexxus will provide ascalable platform for back-office systems for its current member hospitals andposition them for future growth.

Plexxus will implement SAP solutions using a phased approach. The firstphase will focus on streamlining its supply chain network and is expected tobe completed in 2010. Participating member hospitals include Bloorview KidsRehab, Lakeridge Health Network, Mount Sinai Hospital, North York GeneralHospital, St. Joseph's Health Centre Toronto, Rouge Valley Health System,Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, The Scarborough Hospital, Toronto EastGeneral Hospital, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, University Health Networkand Women's College Hospital.
