The noted Beverly Hills plastic surgeon comments on a recent article that the trend in favor of smaller-scale procedures highlights the importance of highly developed skill and an aesthetic sense in the science and art of plastic surgery.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., May 2, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- An April 29 article on INSC

lists the writer's choices of the five largest plastic surgery trends worldwide. The list includes the fact that more people of all genders and situations are having procedures; a trend towards less obvious, more finely detailed work procedures that don't announce themselves; and the growing popularity of non-surgical procedures such as Botox. Beverly Hills-based plastic surgeon Payam Jarrah-Nejad, M.D., F.I.C.S., F.A.C.S., known to his patients as Dr. J, says that many of the choices ring quite true, but perhaps the most interesting in his view is increasing interest in more subtle procedures that require a tremendous amount of skill and delicacy.

Dr. J has often strongly suggested to prospective plastic surgery patients that they should consider only board-certified plastic surgeons. Patients obviously need to do everything possible to ensure the best possible outcomes from their procedures and they definitely want to stay safe, he says. However, while board certification in plastic surgery should be thought of as something like the price of admission, there is still a great deal of difference between the skills of even fully qualified physicians. Dr. J notes that he began his career working with a renowned hand surgeon, noting that there the delicacy required in working on the many small, delicate bones and muscles that operate human hands is not entirely dissimilar from the exquisite detail that makes plastic surgery among the most demanding of medical specialties.

It's that very delicacy and fine detail that makes the choice of a plastic surgeon, which is not the same thing as a cosmetic surgeon, so important in terms of the quality of work, adds Dr. J. It's also true, he continues, that there is also a harder to quantify X factor that may make some prefer the work of one plastic surgeon over another. Since this is obviously a somewhat subjective matter, Dr. J advises prospective patients to take a close look at the before-and-after photo galleries on a doctor's website so they can have an idea of what a particular surgeon is able to achieve. When it comes to procedures on such small but important areas of the face as eyelids, it's definitely crucial look at these galleries, compare them to others you find online, and go with doctors whose outcomes look good to you.

Dr. J is double board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, and he invites anyone interested to look at the galleries on site for a host of procedures, including rhinoplasty and mommy makeover packages. Dr. J's qualifications as a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon can be seen in detail online. Interested readers may call his office at (310) 228-3151 to schedule a consultation.
